Movies Based on Children’s Books!

Wednesday, December 30th, 2015

Many movies will be released next year.  I especially love movies that are based on books.  Here are a few that we I am excited about!

The Jungle Book, starring Scarlett Johansson and Iris Elba, will be released on April 15, 2016.  This movie is based on The Jungle Book, by Rudyard Kipling.

Next up is Alice Through the Looking Glass, which stars Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway.  This movie, released on May 27, 2016, is based on Lewis Carroll’s book by the same name.

Finally, The BFG, starring Rebecca Hall and Mark Rylance.  This movie is based on the book The BFG by Roald Dahl.

Wouldn’t it be fun to read (or re-read) these books and then see the movies?  Come into any of our 18 branches, and we will help you get your hands on the books!

Peanuts cartoonNot only does KDL have lots of items available to check out, but we also have lots of fun activities happening during the week of spring break!  Stop at the library and build yourself a new house at one of our Family Building Bricks Parties!  Go to the Kentwood (Richard L. School-age kids have their own Wii gaming party, as well as Beyblade Battles and a Science in the Stacks program.  Preschoolers can join in the fun with a Garden-themed Storytime, and all ages will enjoy our Drop-in crafts.
