Leave Your Legacy of Lifelong Learning

Monday, May 11th, 2009

May is “Leave a Legacy” Month.

For over 70 years the Kent District Library has been a vital part of our community, working diligently to create a love of reading among its citizens of all ages. KDL has created a legacy of lifelong learning and literacy for our community.

KDL needs your help to ensure this legacy continues for generations to come.

Please consider leaving your legacy by making a charitable bequest to the Kent District Library.

An estate gift to the Kent District Library Fund will allow you to create a legacy of lifelong learning for your library while meeting your own financial and personal objectives. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to: reduce income, gift and estate taxes; secure a source of cash flow for the rest of your life; or reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes.

Gifts large and small are important, and there are many different ways to “Leave a Legacy” to KDL through planned giving.  For more information contact Janice Fonger at 616-784-2092.

Thank You!

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

A very special thank you goes out to our friends at Celebration! Cinema for partnering with KDL to present a special event for the movie The Tale of Despereaux on December 20, 2008. This special event raised over $390 for KDL’s early literacy initiatives.

Over 180 guests at Celebration! South and Celebration! Rivertown theaters were treated to a special ticket package that included admission to The Tale of Despereaux, pop, popcorn, games and a drawing for special prizes.  Katie L. and Flick the Movie Kid were on hand to visit with the kids (of all ages).

Thank you to all who attended and supported this wonderful event!

May is “Leave a Legacy” Month

It is a time to inspire people just like you to make a charitable bequest to your favorite organization — such as Kent District Library.

A planned gift to the KDL Fund will allow you to create a legacy for your community libraries while meeting your own financial and personal objectives.  Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to:  reduce income, gift and estate taxes; secure a source of cash flow for the rest of your life; or reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes.

What better way to thank the people or organizations that have had an impact on your life, than to make a legacy contribution that will live on forever?

Gifts large and small are important, and there are many different ways to “Leave a Legacy” to KDL through planned giving.  For more information contact Janice Fonger at 616-784-2092.

Celebrate National Library Week . . . . Support the KDL Fund!

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

How can you celebrate National Library Week

April 13 – 19th is National Library Week.  This week we celebrate the amazing programs and services provided to our community by KDL each and every day.   We also celebrate the legacy KDL will leave to our community for generations to come.

How can you celebrate KDL during National Library Week

You can celebrate with a contribution to the KDL Fund.  The KDL Fund was created to support our Kent District Library today, tomorrow and forever.  Donations to the KDL Fund through the KDL Annual Fund and the KDL Endowment Fund help support programs and services that would not otherwise be possible. When you make a gift to the KDL Fund you help ensure that the library will fulfill its mission today and for generations to come.

Celebrate your Kent District Library with a donation today!
