Hi Harry,

To get started, click on the link in the blog post above, which will bring you to our “Language Learning” resources page at http://www.kdl.org/reference_resources/category_page/22. Then click on the link to “Mango Languages.” You will be prompted to enter your KDL card number when doing so (you do need a valid KDL card). Once you’ve done that, you’ll be brought to the Mango site, where you can select “Start Learning” to choose your language and start learning immediately, or “Create a Profile” to set up an account to track your progress through the lessons.

My husband and I have been trying to learn German and have not been to sucessful. This might give us a chamce to find others who would like to do the same. We would like to hold a conversation with other students.

My wife and I woould like learning German and also learning Hebrew. We hope to travel to both countries some day and using them.

I use Mango Languages to learn Canadian French. It’s great to see a language course that teaches a Canadian dialect of French.

I am using Mango to improve my Spanish skills. I am currently undergoing the foster care licensing process, and would like to be able to take in Spanish-speaking children.

Now I just need to discipline myself to do it!!!

What an excellent resource for learning a language! I love the slower pace, the repetitive practice, and hearing the voices pronounce the words. I also really like the explanations of the grammar and when to use words in a formal setting or a different word in an informal conversation.

My two grandaughters are 4 and 6 years old. They are in the Spanish track at their school which means that all instruction is done in Spanish. I also have a son who is dating a girl who was born in Panama. It would be fun to be able to talk to them in Spanish. I recently moved from teaching into spending more time with family and friends. Learning a new language is a good way to keep my mind growing.

Love this resource!!! A our family prepares for our move to China in a year or so this is going to be a phenomenal tool for us. Thank you so much for offering Mango, among the many great resources KDL offers.
