Author Frank McCourt Dies at Age 78
Pulitzer Price winning author Frank McCourt died Sunday in Manhattan. Frank McCourt’s first book, Angela’s Ashes, is a moving memoir of his early childhood growing up in Limerick, Ireland with his three brothers, his mother and an alcoholic father. Angela’s Ashes was also made into a movie in 1999. McCourt went on to write two additional memoirs about his move to New York as well as his years as a teacher.
