Everyone Gathers to Read @ EGR Branch

Please join us in a month-long, community-wide celebration of reading and the arts at the East Grand Rapids branch of Kent District Library!

Read a copy of Toni Morrison’s Little Cloud and Lady Wind (available at the library) and enjoy performers, crafts and other activities related to the book on Sundays throughout March:

Sounds of the Earth, featuring Tree of Life Cultural Arts Studio: Drum and Dance

Food of the Earth: Literary Herb Gardens with Margaux Drake

Learn how to start an herb garden from seed with a literary twist! Join Margaux Drake, advanced master gardener and master naturalist, as she teaches how to plant an herb garden indoors in the winter that can be transplanted outdoors in the spring. Fresh herbs not only add wonderful flavor to meals but they also have healing powers and can help maintain good health. You will not want to miss this herb class!  For all ages.  (REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR THIS FREE CLASS)

Art of the Earth

Local students will be featured in our ArtWalk event.  The music of Thistle Head, local Celtic musicians, will entertain upstairs by the fireplace.  Food from local Gaslight Village restaurants will be sure to please!  For all ages.

All of our Sunday activities are free.
