Everyone Gathers to Read in EGR

The East Grand Rapids branch of KDL is planning Everyone Gathers to Read (E.G.R.), a community-wide month-long event that encourages all community members to read the same book and participate in activities, contests and programs. This season’s E.G.R. will focus on Hello, Hello by Dan Zanes.

Programs for E.G.R. include:
Hola, featuring the Grand Rapids Symphony Petting Zoo, on Sunday, February 14 at 2:00 p.m.
Namaste on Sunday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m.
Jambo featuring dancers from Moving Co. on Sunday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m.
Finale Party on Sunday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m.

You can also get involved in the E.G.R. Bookmark Contest. Design a bookmark using Hello, Hello by Dan Zanes as inspiration. Several bookmarks will be selected and printed for distribution at the Finale Party. Bookmarks are due by February 28.

Or get out your camera and take a picture or two using Hello, Hello as inspiration for the E.G.R. Photo Contest. Submissions will be accepted February 14-28, 2010. Photographs will be displayed in the library and celebrated at the Finale Party.

Or if you’re a poet, enter the E.G.R. Poetry Contest. Write a poem using Hello, Hello as inspiration. Adults, teens and kids are encouraged to submit poems to the library. Several will be selected and displayed at the Finale Party.

Details on contests are available at the East Grand Rapids branch.
