New Branches Library Story: Bailey

Bailey Katsumata-Smith used to think reading was, in her words, an overrated waste of time.

“That all changed when I was 6 years old,” she said.

These days the East Grand Rapids Middle School eighth-grader visits the East Grand Rapids branch at least twice a week, and reading continues to be a major part of her life. She shares her literary interests on Goodreads and has reviewed books for KDL’s blog and for her school. Read Bailey’s full library story here.

Morgan J. is a KDL communications assistant. She spends summers as a “hood ornament” of sorts while her husband captains their old, cedar-sided pontoon down the Flat River. In the wintertime she counts the days until she’ll have her toes in the water again.
