Last spring and summer I experienced the joy of helping a Calvin student from South Korea plan her wedding. Since I sew, I altered her dress and made her veil. I even got to help her pick out one of her wedding dresses (Korean custom dictates several to be worn during the ceremony, at the reception, and as she was leaving). Her parents were able to come to Grand Rapids for all the celebrations the week before the wedding. While her sisters and brother speak very good English, her mother, particularly, speaks very little. I started the Korean course on Mango about 2 weeks before their arrival and found it very easy to use and very helpful. By the time they arrived I could greet them and tell them thank you for the time with their daughter, all in Korean. They seemed pleased that I would learn even a few words so I could speak with them. I could never have done even this small kindness without KDL and Mango. Thanks for enriching my life one more way.
