Dora the Explorer Visits KDL!

Storytime with Dora will take place at the Cascade Branch at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 23, and at the East Grand Rapids Branch at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 24. Children ages 3-6 will go on an adventure with Dora that includes stories, crafts, and activities.

Dora is currently on tour with Storytime Live!, the first-ever live family theatrical tour featuring characters from four of the current top-rated preschool shows on television today: Dora the Explorer, The Backyardigans, The Wonder Pets! and Ni Hao, Kai-lan.  Preschoolers and their parents can see their favorite Nick Jr. characters come to life in one action-packed on-stage adventure hosted by Nick Jr.’s Moose A. Moose and Zee.  Storytime Live! is coming to Grand Rapids with shows at DeVos Performance Hall at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 1, and 10:30 AM and 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 2.

    Sounds like fun! It would be great if some of these events could take place on the weekend so working mother’s and their children could be included…

    Katie, I absolutely agree with you. Attending these events that our children would love is nearly impossible with a full time job!

    Katie and Caryn,

    We apologize that both of our Dora visits are taking place during normal working hours. This is a special program, and we had to work around Dora’s limited availability. However, we do offer a variety of weekend and evening programs that your family might enjoy. This coming Saturday, our branches are offering Mobile Making Art Workshop, Family Time, Captain Underpants, What a Wonderful World, Lego Family Block Party, and more! Several of our branches offer Pajama Storytimes in the evenings. Visit our online calendar of events at http://www.kdl.org/events to search for programs that might work for your schedule.

    I just checked with the staff member that is leading the program, and she said you are welcome to bring your daughter. I hope you have a wonderful time!
