What is the best book you read over your holiday break?

O.K., I’ll start!!  I just finished “Schooled” by Gordon Korman.  It’s the story of 8th grader Capricorn “Cap” Anderson, who is home schooled by his hippie grandmother, Rain.  Cap and Rain are the only residents of their commune, so when Rain breaks her hip, Cap is forced to live with his social worker and attend public school until Rain is able to take care of herself again.  The students at Claverage (C-Average) Middle School have never seen anything like Cap, who looks like he’s been beamed in directly from the ’60’s, so no one is surprised when he becomes the target of a prank masterminded by the school’s ruling clique.  The result?  He is elected class president, and is too clueless to know he’s been punked!  Wanna check it out?

The best book I read this break was “The Sweet Far Thing” by Libba Bray. It was the anticipated conclusion to the Gemma Doyle trilogy and it was well worth the wait. It has been one year since Gemma Doyle came to realize her powers to enter a mystical world called the Realms and now the time has come to face her enemy one last time and enter forbidden territory, The Winterlands. Plus, on the side, she has to make her debut as a lady, make alliances with the creatures of the Realms, survive the tyranny of spoiled schoolmates, acheive “happy endings” for her friends (Pippa, Felicity, and Ann), and find where her heart truly lies. Will she choose to sucumb to society, or choose to pave her own path with Kartik at her side?

The best book i read over my holiday break would have to be New Moon by Stephanie Meyers. It is a sequel to her other bestselling book Twilight. it is about Isabella Swan an 18 year old girl that is dating a vampire. of course problems arise as she is dating a vampire but Stephanie Meyers makes these books amazing and unlike any other i have ever read. her language, descriptions, everything! it is now my favorite book. they are funny, romantic and just like your favorite chick flick. They will make you cry at some spots. i recommend these books to everybody because they have comedy, action, romance and a little bit of mystery. I even know a few boys that have read the trilogy (Eclipse is the last book) and loved it. So if you are looking for a good book check this series out!!
