Magazines & Newspapers FREE Online

Yesterday mLive featured an article about Steelcase CEO Jim Hackett making headlines in current issues of Forbes magazine, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

But what if you don’t subscribe to those publications? It’s OK, KDL cardholder, you do — through us!

KDL cardholders can access the above publications and more — for FREE — via the research databases section of our website. While you’re there, check out what else is offered there for free with your KDL account number.

We’re also working to become the first public library in Michigan to offer free eSubscriptions to some 75 popular magazines and hope to launch that feature soon on our downloads page.

I’m so glad you have started doing that and hopefully your plan will go through…some people love reading all these magazines and don’t have money to buy or keep a subscription to anything.

I’m glad you started making magazines accessible via smartphone app, however, none of them on there are free. I was really siked on being able to read more magazines that I don’t have money to pay for originally, however after downloading the app, I found all the magazines required a subscription-i.e., paying for them. I was really bummed and disappointed. Anything you can suggest or advise? Thank you and have a wonderful day.

    Hi Eva,

Before visiting the app, please visit the zinio page through our website. That is where you will find the titles that we have available to library card holders for free. From http://www.kdl.org/downloads click on the magazines link. It will take you to a site where you will hit the purple “Create Account!” button. If you have any other questions, please call 784-2007 and our patron services staff can help you.
