Next summer, would you please do more promotion of the adults’ program? Until this year, I didn’t know there was one. I didn’t hear of its existence until the Wednesday of the week before it ended.

  2. Morgan J. Says:

Thanks for the feedback, Lydia! In addition to at all 18 of our branches, we promoted the summer reading program (for all ages) on our website, the blog, in Bookpage magazine, radio and on our main and all our branches’ Facebook pages. If you have a suggestion for additional promotion methods, please let us know. We want everyone who wishes to participate to be able to do so!

In addition, the only way I found out about it was by an 8.5×11 inch announcement taped to the door. I read it only on my way out.

  4. Christine Says:

Have they picked winners for all the prizes yet?

  5. Sheri Says:

    Hi Christine,

Yes, all prize winners have been chosen and notified.

I think this was the first year there was a summer reading program specifically for adults. I don’t remember there being one in previous years.

I love the email updates, and the updates that you post on Facebook. I follow both the main page, and my specific branch location. Such a great way to stay up to date with what is going on.
We had someone in all three programs this year. My youngest liked being able to pick out a book when he turned in his sheet. He has read it multiple times since.

    Love, love love the library!

I enjoy the adult programs each year. They have motivated me to read “Outside the Box.” One year they had a “game” with many different options and suggested books for each category. That was interesting and challenging. I learned more about the library and love the “Playaway” books that I can listen to while doing things.

First time to participate – my kids loved it! We hung the chart up and each time they read a book they went and marked the day off! I didn’t realize their was an adult one – will pay more attention next year! The kids loved picking out their free book and getting the coupons for free food!

  9. Brandon Says:

Did you give away a Double J resort package this year?

  10. Katie Says:

    Hi Brandon,

A Double JJ resort prize package was given away to one lucky winner from among all West Michigan libraries. I’m not sure if the winner was a KDL patron.
