Great Reads for Guys @ KDL!
Have a reluctant young reader at home? Someone who claims he just doesn’t like to read? If the answer is yes, you should know about KDL’s Guys Read initiative. It’s all about getting boys interested in reading (and even talking about it). With great programs like book discussions and celebrations along with a wide variety of reading materials including books, magazines and graphic novels, there are plenty of ways to get your young one interested in reading. Here are a few suggestions to help get your guy excited about reading:
- Does he like to laugh? Give the Wayside School or Spaceheadz series a try.
- Does he prefer plenty of illustrations to go with all those words? Try the Captain Underpants, Bad Kitty, or Big Nate series.
- Is he the mysterious type? Give the Patrick Carman’s Skeleton Creek or Trackers series a look (he has even contributed to the popular 39 Clues series).
And if you feel like a “supernatural” read this Halloween season, give the Nathan Abercrombie, Accidental Zombie, Books of Elsewhere or the ever-popular American Chillers series a try.
