The Complete Jane Austen Coming to PBS
Attention Jane Austen fans!
Starting this Sunday evening, Masterpiece Theatre will be broadcasting film adaptations of all six of Jane Austen’s novels, plus a new drama based on her life.
Four of the movies are all-new productions, while two are re-broadcasts of old favorites, including the Pride and Prejudice miniseries starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle (a personal favorite of mine).
See the PBS website for more details, including a complete schedule and sneak preview trailer.

And for those of you who just can’t get enough of Jane, I just finished reading The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen by Syrie James, which I highly recommend. This novel presents a fictionalized “memoir” supposedly written by Jane Austen and hidden away in an attic for hundreds of years. Discovered during a renovation project, its pages reveal the real-life inspirations behind many of Austen’s well-known characters, as well as an previously unknown love affair for Jane herself.
