Audiobook Narrators
I can admit it, I love listening to audiobooks! I upload CDs to my iPod and I am ready to go. But there are a few narrators who I have come to love. Narrators who I listen to because they are reading the book, not caring which book.
Since I am a huge Harry Potter fan, I have listened to Jim Dale’s fabulous reading many times. But Mr. Dale has also read other great books, including Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland.
Secondly, I love the deep tones of George Guidall’s voice. He doesn’t read teen or youth books, but he did read Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick, a wonderful nonfiction book about the Pilgrims which sets the record straight on the many legends about the early settlers.
Another narrator I came to know from a specific book series, Katherine Kellgren. She adds so much depth to the Bloody Jack series by L.A. Meyer, I refuse to read them to myself! But she is also one of the readers for the new Riordan series, The Red Pyramid. I might have to “read” that one again.
Leave a comment below telling us about your favorite narrator!

Lisette Lecat has done a marvelous job on Alexander McCall Smith’s No. 1 Ladies Detective series.
Davina Porter is lovely – especially in her reading of Diana Gabaldon’s books.

The late Anna Fields/Kate Reading is my all-time fave!! Miss her so much. I also love Johanna Parker and Phil Gigante. I am always listening to audiobooks when I work and clean my house so a good narrator can make/break a book!!
