Download Free eBooks from the Library

You’ve heard the buzz about eBooks, and maybe you’ve even taken the plunge and bought an eReader device like the Barnes & Noble NOOK. But did you know that in addition to all the other great materials you can get from the library, you can also download free eBooks? They even “expire” automatically at the end of your checkout period, so there’s no need to worry about overdue fines!

Even NBC News is picking up on this new trend:

If you have an eReader device, we’ve recently put together this handy step-by-step guide for how to find, download, and transfer library eBooks to a compatible eReader device (Barnes & Noble NOOK, Kobo eReader, or Sony Reader). Don’t have an eReader device? Don’t worry — eBooks can be read right on your computer as long as you download the free Adobe Digital Editions software.
