Knitting at the Library!

Since we just started a weekly Knitting Group at the Gaines Township Library, I thought I would let know you about a few new knitting books that we’ve just gotten in.

The best of Interweave knits : our favorite designs from the first ten years is a book that is full of unique patterns as well as advice and tips and tricks.  It has great illustrations to accompany various techniques.

Interweave Press also recently published Folk Style as well as Bag Style to follow up the popular Scarf Style and Lace Style

Also new in 2007 is Debbie Bliss’s book Essential baby : over 20 hand knits to take your baby from first days to first steps. This book has some beautiful patterns and also a very nice how-to section at the beginning for those of you who are just starting out.

Judith McLeod-Odell recently published Heirloom Knits, a book of patterns that includes a pattern for each decade beginning in 1820.

If you’d like to learn how to knit, please stop by the Gaines Township Library for a lesson on Saturday mornings from 10:00am – 12:00pm.
