As a busy working woman, I love the electronic access to the library for checking out all the great book selections across all the branches. The convenience of reserving and renewing online is fabulous!

I can’t say enough about the wonderful resource that KDL is in our community, and personally for this family. My kids love going to the library, and we are there twice a week for new books, movies and music.

I use KDL for so many things! When our family goes on vacation we get books on cd and music to listen to in the car. We download free magazines. I have used KDL resources for business research. But my favorite is still checking out a great read to enjoy fireside in winter or in a hammock in the summer.

The KDL is not just great for the books you can take out, it’s a wonderful place to go and hide out and read or do research. Plus, it’s a great place for an instant office. I travel all over the county so whenever I need to settle into a quiet place to get some work done, KDL is my choice.

KDL has amazing children’s programs, an elaborate selection of books, music, movies, ebooks, magazines, resources, etc. KDL is an automatic stop for our kids on our way out of town. They can choose reading material and movies to keep them occupied. I love the quiet browsing and the user friendly website.

I love the access to audiobooks and e-books. I also love I can create lists online of books I want to read, but don’t have time for quite yet. This helps so I won’t forget about them!

I love the books, the smiling librarians in the Kentwood Branch as I walk in and the grand variety I have access to.

I love the online book request and e-book library!
March 22nd, 2013 at 9:35 am
I’m an ESL (English as a Second Language) and reserve rooms at the library for my teaching sessions. I also use the ESL books and love the vast variety of not every kind of book and DVD I can reserve and pick up at my convenience – for FREE! I’m planning a trip to Yellowstone this summer and have used the library’s resources for that purpose. I LOVE KDL!

As an avid reader (more than two a week, and sometimes as many as four), I simply could not afford to buy the books that I read. I have found that the library has afforded me a way to broaden my perspective and enrich my life, all at no charge! I take advantage of both the e- and traditional books, and being able to check out a book while sitting at one’s computer, and accessing the selection and starting to read it in about a minute, is simply wonderful. Requesting items makes popular selections accessible in a reasonable amount of time, and the “What’s Next Database” and “Future Book/DVD/CD Releases” are favorite sites on your website.

I love that we can request books from other libraries. This was absolutely wonderful when I was home schooling. Thanks.
March 22nd, 2013 at 1:27 pm
Where else can I read and listen to an unlimited number of books for FREE??? I feel sorry for people who tell me they actually pay for books to load on their tablets. I try not to be pretentious when I say I’ve never ever paid for a book. I mean really? Get a library card!! Its so easy!
March 22nd, 2013 at 1:34 pm
Plainfield Library is my library of choice. It’s the gateway to a world of fun and knowledge.
March 22nd, 2013 at 1:36 pm
KDL has been a life saver when money was tight it was our entertainment. When things got better it was our home improvement store. When things got really good it was our travel agent.
Now it is our dependable friend to keep us where company wherever our journey takes us. (Plus it helped my kids develop a love for reading.)
March 22nd, 2013 at 4:53 pm
I like to keep an eye on the future book releases list. It helps me plan ahead.
March 22nd, 2013 at 5:10 pm

I LOVE how you you can request almost anything and have it delivered to your home library. Also love the Friends book sales! I always find wonderful things at those!
March 23rd, 2013 at 8:00 pm
I like the comic books. Great comic books. I also really really like the locations that store the DVDs on shelves with the spines out so you can read them without flipping through.
March 23rd, 2013 at 9:26 pm
I love the self checkout and the fact that you can place a hold on books online and collect them at your nearest branch!
March 23rd, 2013 at 10:08 pm
I love i can browse the catalog in the middle of the night (when i get home from work) place a hold and pick up my book when it comes in. While it appears i will always love print books best, but i am so thankful the library has kept up with electronic media. It sure has been a blessing for me. (And my Kindle, too – ‘course i have one!)
March 24th, 2013 at 10:35 am
I love the library for all of the new things I discover and the wonderful programs, book sales, self check out. It is my favorite destination to walk to and hang out. I would love tickets to David Sedaris! I discovered him on books on tape at the library years ago and enjoyed so many lol moments!

I love the library because of the great free opportunities it provides for my young daughter, such as babytime play and storytimes! It is a great way to meet other parents and for my baby to socialize. And of course I love the used book sales and reading, too

I love that KDL is a PUBLIC library–all can use it, free of charge.
It’s a communion for readers, and an important democratic institution.
March 25th, 2013 at 10:09 am
I love KDL. While I am officially an owner of a GR library card, I live closer to KDL branches. This makes me infinitely happy, because not only are the children’s areas wonderful, the book selections are enough to get me there about three times a week. In short, I cannot live without my KDL fix.
March 25th, 2013 at 10:12 am
I love the large selection that the KDL libraries have. Also enjoy the many programs that are available. My family often visits the Waker KDL and the staff is always very friendly and helpful.

March 27th, 2013 at 1:11 pm
I love the librarians! The ones at my favorite library (Wyoming)are always incredibly helpful and I love chatting with them! It’s nice to strike up a conversation about a book I plan to check out because it makes me even more anxious to start and I love talking about my thoughts on a book when I return it!
March 27th, 2013 at 2:43 pm
I love downloading ebooks and taking my kids to toddler time in Grandville!
March 27th, 2013 at 3:38 pm
The public library is a great place to find new things to read and watch, as well as study. I also love David Sedaris’ work and hope to get the tickets

March 29th, 2013 at 7:03 am
My kids would say Wyoming Branch storytime. Me? I love that I can “order” a book on-line and easily pick it up at our local branch any time.
March 29th, 2013 at 8:54 am
Even though so much of life has gone digital, the library will always be a place of serenity for me. The staff is always so helpful, check out is a breeze and I love ordering books online to pick up and settle into a comfy corner. It is truly a respite in my busy life! Thank you KDL!
March 29th, 2013 at 2:40 pm
I love the children’s section! It is such a great place for kids (and parents).
March 29th, 2013 at 10:08 pm
I love the library. It is for me a place of quiet reflection and a place of inspiration. Whether I am looking for entertainment, information, or an educational experience, the library has something for me. The librarians are always friendly and when you get to know them, they are good resources in directing you to materials you might like to check out. Thank you.
March 30th, 2013 at 8:43 pm
I love the inter-library loan system, which gives me access to so many books and DVDs. I enjoy reading magazines and newspapers at the East Grand Rapids branch. I also enjoy on-line access to data bases and magazines, including Consumers Reports.

We have the KDL addiction. I have three amazing grand children who love to read, they love your audio-book selection and the Play-Away stories. Oh yes, so does grandma. It’s so nice to see how comfortable they are using the library at their young ages, their excitement on our visits. I know they will continue their library relationship into adult-hood. I want to add a big thank you for all the wonderful information events, music and games you offer to the community. A second thank you to the wonderful staff members.
March 31st, 2013 at 11:03 am
My very favorite thing about the library is hearing what children say in/around the library. My favorite quote to date was from a little girl who was walking towards the library with a crate full of books. “That’s a lot of books,” I said to her. “No it isn’t,” she said.
