Graphic Novels
The Olympian series has increased interest in Greek Mythology, which makes the graphic novels by George O’Connor a welcome addition. So far Zeus: King of the Gods and Athena: Grey-Eyed Goddess have been published, with more being planned. Both books were well-written and drawn which makes me eager to read what O’Connor publishes next.
The collection of Trickster: Native American Tales, edited by Matt Dembicki, is an interesting grouping of different trickster tales with each story being illustrated by a different artist. There is a wide variety of styles which makes the book very visually appealing.
Ghostopolis by Doug TenNapel is a unique story which has already caught the eye of Hollywood. A young boy, Garth, is accidently sent to the afterlife by a ghost wrangler, Frank Gallows. While Frank is doing everything in his power to bring Garth back, Garth is having an adventure of a lifetime in addition to meeting some family members who had already passed over.
