My favorite whitecaps memory was taking my 3 kids to their first game, but recently my 9yr old daughter ran her first 5K with the girls on the run program at 5/3 ballpark and finished the race crossing home plate while pictured on the jumbotron. I was such a proud mama that it will be tough for the whitecaps to reclaim ownership of the ballpark in my memory, but going to a game would help 🙂

I love taking my kids to enjoy the whitecaps just as I did when I was younger.

  3. Danielle Says:

My first Whitecaps game was in 1994, their inaugural season. I was working in the library at Cornerstone University as a student and the librarians took us as a reward for completing a large project. It was a damp & cool April evening. I shared a blanket with one of the other workers, a guy named Ray. We weren’t dating. Little did I know that we would get married 4 years later and take our own kids to the games. I still have a baseball cap from that game that my sons love to wear.

What I enjoy most about going to a Whitecaps game is the food, game, local entertainment and most if all the family time;-)

Our family visits the Whitecaps several times during the summer, it is fun and affordable. I love that the players and the staff are both friendly and helpful. We are blessed to have them in our City~

My 89 year old Navy Veteran neighbour took me to my first White Caps game. We enjoyed the mascots and hot dogs. He is now at a retirement home and I would love to recipricate.

  8. Olivia Says:

I have great memories of going to the Whitecaps for various company parties. The most fun was a work party in one of the boxes with my husband of almost 12 years – back when we had just started dating!

  9. Ruth Says:

I love attending Scout Nights (with both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts) with my kids and the other scouting families. We always have a great time participating with the on-field activities and the kids love to dream of one day catching a foul ball! It’s a wonderful opportunity to get to know these other families better and let the kids share a common experience.

My first White Caps Game was a Mother’s Day Game that we took my wife to shortly after we moved here in 1996. We enjoyed the family time watching the game and especially the between inning happenings. The children are all grown but my wife and I still try and get to some games each year.

  11. Mackenzie Says:

What I like most about going to a Whitecaps game is getting food at the concession stands and spending time with my family. My favorite Whitecaps memory is seeing Ed Sheeran perform.

  12. Dave Den Ouden Says:

My mother recently passed away at the age of 91. During her lifetime she especially enjoyed it when I would take her to a Whitecaps’ baseball game. Even though she was dealing with the effects of vascular dementia, the time we shared at a Whitecaps’ baseball game seemed to transport her into an atmosphere that was very comfortable and relaxing! She loved the entire experience at the ballpark: the smells of the various foods, the competition of the game, the on-field activities, the antics of the mascots and Myron Noodelman, and just being together with her son. As a youngster she had taken me to various minor league baseball games when I had a brace on my leg and even had the patience on holidays to hit fly balls to me until I had caught 50 flies! I can’t get my mother back, but I can savor the great memories I have of attending Whitecaps’ games each year. It would be very enjoyable to win the tickets and be able to re-experience some of those memories that we had together!

  13. Ashleigh Says:

I’ve never been to a WhiteCaps game, but I would love to take my family! My kids are finally at the age where they would have fun!

  14. Dave Says:

My favorite memory at the Whitecaps was when Nick Castellanos hit a home run right along the left field fence! Was it a boomer!!

  15. Patricia Says:

My kids love going to the games to see the mascots act silly and eat all the yummy food.

  16. Gina Says:

I just took my son to his first Whitecaps game and we had so much fun. He didn’t want to miss a minute of the action and was entertained the entire game. I’d love to take him to another game soon!

  17. Kelli Evans Says:

I love to go to the Whitecaps with family and friends. Our favorite thing to do is cheer on the different colored eyeballs in between innings.

  18. Lindsay Says:

We love making family memories at Whitecaps games!

  19. Kristen Says:

When I was in high school, I job-shadowed the Promotions guy at the Whitecaps. So during a game, I got to help with the on-field games in between innings. Later in the game, during the dizzy bat race, I was standing along first base side when I heard somebody yell “Look out”! Next thing I knew, a ball smacked me on the side of my head and I almost fell over. While warming up on the field, the third baseman threw the ball to the first baseman but threw it too far and it hit me instead! I had to get checked out by the EMS people and was fine, but it was quite the experience! After I returned to the dugout, all the players felt really bad and kept asking me if I was ok.

  20. Tara Says:

My son loves to go to Whitecaps games in the summertime. One summer evening we were able to watch the Whitecaps play a couple of innings, but the game was eventually rained out, so my son was thrilled to be able to go back to Fifth Third Ballpark another day to watch the Whitecaps play again!

  21. Allison Says:

I enjoy getting outside, spending time with friends, and seeing some future Tigers play ball! The fireworks are great too!
