I would like to nominate Mary Long from Lowell’s Englehardt Library. Mary has suggested books and movies for my sons and I for many years. I regularly take home the books on CD and movies suggested by Mary. All of the librarians in Lowell are very special to our family, but we would have to say that Mary has taken the most time to help us over the years. She has also helped me personally by sharing with me about her son. My 17 year old son has Autism, and Mary has often helped encourage me, assuring me that I am a good parent. She has seen me struggle at times in the library with my son. She never judges me, but is a great comfort to me. Please pass this along to Mary; even if she doesn’t win an award from KDL, she has huge rewards awaiting her in Heaven….

I would be hard pressed to nominate just one individual as a favorite. So..I would like to nominate the “entire staff at Plainfield KDL”.. Collectively they have an abundance of patience (if something “odd” will happen with your computer..it WILL happen to ME. The staff is relentlessly friendly, helpful and just a very nice group of people. We are very fortunate they’ve chosen to work with us.

I would like to nominate Jo Van Zoest at the Gaines Township Library. She is kind, always helpful, makes people feel at ease, and brings a smile to my face. She helps make the library not only a place to learn, but, also, gives it a warm and friendly atmosphere. Thank You, Jo.
