Joy Smith, an active member of the Friends of the Englehardt Library, was recently recognized as the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year. Criteria for receiving this award includes freely donating considerable time to the community, school district, church, or humanity, making the community a better place to live, and possessing new and innovative ideas that benefit the community.
Besides the vital role she plays in the Friends of the Englehardt Library group, Joy also does volunteer work for Women’s Club, the Lowell Area Arts Council, and the Historical Museum.
“The Englehardt Branch has benefited in so many ways from Joy’s hard work, energy, great ideas, and unfaltering dedication,” said Kristin Meyer, Branch Manager of the Englehardt branch. “We are thrilled that she has received this award and has been recognized for her significant contribution to the Lowell community.”
Please join us in congratulating Joy on this wonderful achievement!
