New York, New York Teen Fiction

New York City is an exciting place and it’s fun to discover the city through books.  These two books are both set in New York and the characters spend time exploring.

For Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan, it all starts in a local bookstore.  Lily leaves a notebook with clues and Dash is the lucky finder of the notebook.  This starts them both on a clue-based journey to different New York locations.  But what happens when they come face to face?

Rose Sees Red by Cecil Castellucci is actually set in the 80s during the Cold War.  Rose lives next door to a Russian compound, but it isn’t until her neighbor Yrena climbs through the bedroom window that they actually meet.  Yrena wants to experience New York, taking Rose along for an experience of a lifetime that opens doors to new friends as well as the heart of Rose’s dancing.
