Early Lit Bits: “Job Site” Book Review

Job Site by Nathan Clement

Nathan Clement, a graphic artist, gives us a superb book about big and heavy machines.  From a bulldozer to an excavator to a compactor, all  of the machines work together to complete one project… a park!

The crisp illustrations make the machines the major focus with both close-ups and shots from further away.  The minimal text makes this a great choice for young children.  Boys and girls who enjoy construction sites will love to recognize their favorite big machines.

Books with interesting words and pictures are a great way to encourage a child’s growing vocabulary. Vocabulary is one of the six skills that promote early literacy.
