Great DVD You Have Never Heard of
Snow Cake (DRA/NR) is the story of an autistic woman and her daugther whose lives tragically intersect with a lonely stranger. I had no expectations of this movie, but was intrigued by the combination of Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman. (Ripley and Snape?) Forget every other role you’ve seen them play. This movie is about adults, flawed, well-intentioned, ugly and beautiful. If you like complicated characters who slowly reveal themselves, you will be moved by Snow Cake.
