October is National Reading Group Month

Did you know that October is National Reading Group Month? Sponsored by the Women’s National Book Association, National Reading Group Month promotes reading groups and celebrates the joy of shared reading.

At KDL, we’re working to support reading groups not just in October, but all year long! Here are some great resources for your book club:

  • Have you tried our Book Club in a Bag service yet? We now have almost 50 bags in the program, each of which contains 12 copies of a book along with discussion questions and author information — everything you need for your book group discussion!
  • Are you looking for that perfect book for your next discussion? Check out our Recommended Reading resources or talk to the librarians at your local branch — they’re sure to have some great suggestions.
  • Do you hate trying to think of discussion questions for your book group? Take a look at http://www.readinggroupguides.com/ — They have guides for thousands of different books, along with generic questions that you can use if your particular book choice doesn’t have a guide available.
  • Don’t have a book group but would like to join one? Many of our branches have monthly book discussions. Check out our event calendar to find one near you!
