Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22, and the Kent District Library is celebrating with green programs all month long!
It’s Easy Being Green — East Grand Rapids Branch
Wednesday, April 1 through Thursday, April 30
Pick up a game card at the East Grand Rapids library and complete at least 10 of the green activities during the month of April to be entered into a drawing for a green prize. For every 25 game cards returned, the library will donate $5.00 to the Arbor Day Foundation. For grades 1 through 12. No registration required.
Be Good to the Earth, Be Good to your Body — East Grand Rapids Branch
Saturdays, April 4-25, 2:00-3:00 p.m.
Learn how being good to the earth and healthier living go hand-in-hand. Stop in any Saturday in April and speak with local environmental and ecology experts. For all ages. No registration required.

Saturday, April 25, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Learn how to make your own earth-friendly cleaning products and discover alternatives for the most popular types of home cleaners. It’s healthier and much less expensive! For adults. Registration is required.
Ready to Make a Rain Garden? — East Grand Rapids Branch
Saturday, May 2, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Learn to reuse rain water to create drought-resistant, eco-friendly gardens. Also learn to create rain barrels and find out the best plants to use in your gardens. For all ages. No registration required.
