Finding Work When Times are Tough

The Kentwood branch of KDL will continue its series of workshops called “Finding Work When Times are Tough” on Thursdays, March 26 and April 23 at 6:30 p.m. Ken Soper, a Master Career Counselor recognized by the National Career Development Association, will teach you how to effectively seek work using technology-based methods even in tough economic times. Registration is required for this workshop.

The Career Center at the Kentwood branch of KDL offers resources like résumé and cover letter-writing books and DVDs, job interview books and salary information. If you are preparing for an exam or test, check out the Career Center’s test tutor books and DVDs, test preparation books for various certifications, college exam preparation books (such as ACT, SAT and GRE), and college entrance essay books.

If you’re unsure about your career’s future, access books on career choices with descriptions and advice. You can also find self-assessment books for career interests and aptitudes. Finally, the Career Center offers a computer with Internet access, online databases for career advice and test preparation, and a list of career and job websites.
