The Kent District Library held the first KDL Green Fair on Saturday, April 18. Hundreds of people stopped by the East Grand Rapids branch to learn ways to live a greener and more sustainable lifestyle.
The KDL Green Fair included kids crafts, like homework holders made from cereal boxes, seed planting and Earth Day crowns.
There were also several demonstrations, such as vermiculture, cleaning products, rain gardens and a Trash to Treasure workshop.
Visitors could also stop by the many informational booths on display, such as the West Michigan Cooperative, the West Michigan Environmental Action Council, and Magnanimous Salsa, made from locally grown produce.
Thank you to all of our sponsors, demonstrators, visitors and volunteers. For more information on going green, visit the KDL Living Green in West Michigan wiki.
