Meet the Author: Jennifer Armintrout
Jennifer Armintrout will be at the Alpine Township branch on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:00 PM to read from her work, sign and sell her books and talk about the differences between print (or “New York”) publishing, eBooks and self-publishing, in terms of what readers and writers can expect from each.
Armintrout’s debut novel, The Turning, made the USA Today Bestsellers list in 2006. Her series of urban fantasy novels known as the Blood Ties series chronicle the life of Dr. Carrie Ames, an emergency-room doctor who must adapt to life as a vampire after being attacked by one of her patients. Armintrout has said her inspiration for the novels came from her experiences working at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Armintrout’s appearance is part of KDL’s Celebrate the Mitten author series, which includes more than a dozen published authors from around the state appearing at various branches through May, and an author showcase on Saturday, April 21 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Kentwood branch.
