Meet the Author: Sue Merrell
Former Grand Rapids Press entertainment and theater writer Sue Merrell will be at her home library, the Grandville branch, at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 17 to read from, sell and sign copies of her book and to discuss memoir-writing.
Merrell’s memoir, Laughing for a Living, includes recollections from her conversations with stage and screen stars from Bette Midler to James Earl Jones to Cary Grant, as well as other stories from her reporting experiences. Her previous book, Great News Town, is a fictional mystery thriller inspired by a serial killer who terrorized Joliet, Illinois, when Merrell was assistant city editor there. The sequel to Great News Town is expected to hit bookstores this year.
Merrell’s appearance is part of KDL’s Celebrate the Mitten author series, which includes more than a dozen published authors from around the state appearing at various branches through May, and an author showcase from 1:00 to 4:00 PM April 21 at the Kentwood branch.
